No. Talisman doesn’t really suit asynchronous play due to players having to react to spell casting.

Honestly, this game is quite fun if you play it solo or even hotseat pass and play is pretty decent implementation. However I can’t give it a full five stars because of two issues that combine to make online play almost impossible. One, tabbing out of the app to switch to any other screen (text messaging client for instance) will disconnect the player from the game with no way I’m aware of to reconnect. Added to this is the worse of the two issues, which is the keyboard connection to the game is somehow messed up. It won’t allow the use of backspace or enter keys. This breaks in game chat (which exacerbates the other issue, negating the ability to communicate with others while playing). This also breaks private server selection (since the name can’t be changed, which is required for selecting the server). In a perfect world, the game wouldn’t disconnect every time i switch to my text messaging client. It would also allow reconnection to the same game if I were disconnected. Since the games can take hours, it would also allow saving an online game in progress so it could be reconnected. I’d settle for fixing the keyboard, which would make the game painful and kludgey but at least playable online. My brother’s iPhone has no issue with the keyboard. It’s a very fun game, just a problematic implementation. Fix the bugs and I’ll upgrade my review. And before you suggest it, I have filed a support ticket with Asmodee helpdesk.

Honestly, this game is a lot of fun when played solo or even with the hotseat pass, and the gameplay is really good. However, I can’t give five stars because of two issues that make online play almost impossible. First, exiting an app to go to another screen (like a text messaging client) disconnects the player from the game if I have any information to reconnect. Also, this is the worst of the two problems, which is that the connection to the keyboard in the game is nothing but messy. It will not allow backspace or enter key to be used. This interferes with game chat (which exacerbates other problems, denying the ability to communicate with others while playing). It also breaks the selection of the private server (because it cannot be renamed, which is necessary to select a server). In a perfect world, the game wouldn’t disconnect every time a text message goes through my client. This will allow you to reconnect to the same game if you have been disconnected. Since the games can take a long time, it is also possible to save the games online to keep them. I agree with fixing the keyboard, it hurts and makes the game harder, but at least it’s playable online. There is no problem with the keyboard of my brother’s iPhone. It’s a very fun game, the only problem is the killing. Correct the mistakes and I will improve my review. Before suggesting, I submitted a support ticket to Asmodee support.
