This is one of those fun things that gamers wonder whether the designers intended. In Little Big Planet, you can enter your own “moon” off of the main world in which the main game resides. On your moon you can create your own levels. If you make something that you’d like the rest of the planet to see, you can share it. However, if you make something fun just for your own household, you can enjoy it without the pressure of submitting it to public scrutiny.

In our household, we have a simple level (really simple) that consists of a big wall. In fact, in order to play with this, we don’t even enter the level in “play” mode. We use “edit” mode so that we can zoom in and out and change our angle easily. And this big wall is just a blank slate for us to apply stickers. It’s a kind of personal graffiti wall for the kids and it’s lots of fun.

There are numbers of other ways to enjoy the tools in Little Big planet and we’ll share some of the others that we’ve discovered. However, never underestimate the beauty of simplicity. Especially when it encourages your kids to tap into that imagination!

Have fun!
