In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.
Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them for longer-term survival. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.

The bugs are real, as is the quality of the game. I played for a week thinking the complaints were exaggerated…but when you hit a new encounter (the sniper for me), and a game crashing bug happens EVERY TIME you get close to this new and interesting character, it feels bad man. I uninstalled. Love the game though, I own all the DLC on PC…which I will probably be reinstalling shortly.

In This War Of Mine, you don’t play as an elite soldier, but as a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; Struggling with the scarcity of food, medicine, and the constant threat of enemy snipers and scavengers. The game offers a war experience seen from a new angle.
The course of this Mine War is determined by the cycle of day and night. During the day, the snipers outside prevent you from leaving the shelter, so you have to focus on protecting your shelter: crafting, trading, and taking care of the survivors. At night, take one of your civilians to scavenge a series of unique locations for items that will help you survive.

I played for a week thinking the complaints were excessive… but when you see a new encounter (sniper for me) and the game crashes EVERY TIME you approach this exciting new character, it just doesn’t feel right. I deleted it. Love the game, I have all the DLCs on PC…maybe reinstall soon.
